Geert D'hollanderGeert D'hollander, studied, amongst others, piano, chamber music, choral- and orchestral direction, fugue and composition at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp (Belgium), and carillon at the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen (Belgium). He was first prize winner in about 30 international competitions for carillon and/or composition. In 2008 he was awarded the “Berkeley Medal of Honor” for “Distinguished Service to the Carillon”.
He was appointed carillonneur of Bok Tower Gardens (Lake Wales, FL) in October 2012. Prior positions include University Carillonist and Professor of Carillon at the Department of Music at UC Berkeley (California), city carillonneur of Antwerp Cathedral, the belfry of Ghent, the basilica of Lier (Belgium), and University Carillonneur of Middelburg (The Netherlands).
He frequently gives Master Classes in Europe and the USA, and performs all over the world.
